I am going to apply an approval letter to get Vietnam visa on arrival. However, what I am concerning is, do I need to use the original approval letter or just a hard copy? How do I receive the approval letter?

The Vietnam visa approval letter is one of the compulsory document which applicants need to submit to get landing visa. This letter is required in a hard copy, so you need to print it out after receiving it though email.

You normally get the approval letter after 2 working days processing through email. The letter will be sent to the email you registered in online application form. If you have not got it by email yet, you should check your spam box or contact the travel agent you apply with for asking help. After getting the letter, you need to print it out. A hard copy is ok for submitting on arrival, so you do not need to ask the original one any more. You also need to pay attention, the soft copy of approval letter can be accepted by Immigration Officers, however, they don’t prefer it. So, don’t waste your time by using the soft copy one.

In summary, you do not need to have the original approval letter to get Vietnam visa on arrival. You just need the hard copy. And the soft copy can be used, but it is not recommended. Therefore, you should print out the approval letter when you get it by email.
