I’m an American citizen. Which document should I need to prepare to apply for Vietnam visa?

Electronic visa (E-visa)

This is a type of online visa. America is one of 80 countries which are allowed to be able to apply for it. With E-visa, you can enter Vietnam with tourism or business purpose and stay here for not more than 30 days with single entry.

Visa On Arrival

With Visa On Arrival, you can stay in Vietnam from 1 month to 12 months with single or multiple entry. American citizens are eligible to apply for it.

You just need to follow some simple steps as below:

Step 1: Complete the online application form via website to get the approval letter by filling in some required information.

Step 2: Do the online payment (the price depends on the type of visa that you choose).

Step 3: Receive the approval letter after 48 working hours. Then, you need to print out the approval letter which is one of compulsory documents.

For Visa On Arrival, you need to get the visa stamp at Vietnam airport. Therefore, you need to prepare some documents before boarding the airplane:

• The approval letter (print it out)
• The visa application form (print it out). You can download this form via website and complete it in advance or you can also get it at the airport and complete it right after.
• Your passport must be original
• 2 photos in the size of 4×6 (one is used for the visa application form, one for backup case)
• Visa stamp fee (25 USD)

Visa at the Vietnam embassy or consulate

Required documents:

• Your passport has at least 2 blank pages and is still valid at least 30 days from the day you enter Vietnam
• The visa application form
• 2 photos in the size of 4×6
• Round-trip ticket
• Finance

This type of visa is issued in the traditional way. The way to make is a little more complicated, you need to prepare some required documents and then going to the Vietnam embassy or consulate in your country.
