The immigration department of Vietnam agreed with the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule proposed by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. Accordingly, workers and employees will be entitled to 9 days off, from January 25th To February 2nd, (from December 26th to January 5th, lunar calendar).
During this time, Vietnamese embassies and consulates abroad, the Immigration Department will not work. Visa applications will not be accepted during this time:
- Vietnam visa applications submitted before January 25th but not enough 3 working days to process, will be saved and reviewed after February 2nd.
- Vietnam visa applications submitted between January 25th and February 2nd (for online visa applications) will be saved and reviewed after February 2nd.
Note:
- The Lunar New Year is the peak period, if you intend to come to Vietnam, you should prepare your visa at least 10 days in advance.
- In case you forgot to apply for a visa in advance, and you need a visa during the Lunar New Year period, you must apply for an emergency visa. Emergency visas are processed online, you can get them during the Lunar New Year period but you have to pay an expedited processing fee.
