I am planning to travel to Vietnam at the end of 2022. Can I travel to Vietnam with my vaccination certificate? Do I need to provide any documents to get entry permit to Vietnam in Covid-19 period?

Vietnam is planning to open the tourism slowly after getting vaccinated for the citizens. As expected, Vietnam will welcome tourists and open the tourism industry carefully from March 2022. However, all foreigners coming to Vietnam need to provide the documents to prove negative with Coronavirus. The documents might be:

• Covid-19 vaccine passport approved by Vietnam authority
• Vaccination certificate approved by Vietnam authority
• Negative Coronavirus testing approved by Vietnam authority

Depending on vaccination status of the country you are living, the requirements for entry may be varied. Some countries with high percentage of vaccination for the citizens will be simplified the required documents for entry. Some countries with low percentage of vaccination will need to prepare more documents to enter Vietnam.

Normally, foreign people need to have these below documents to travel to Vietnam during pandemic period:

• Valid visa, or electronic visa, or visa approval letter for getting visa at the airport
• Entry permit
• Booking hotel
• Quarantine plan (if any)
• Transportation booking
• Travel itinerary
• Flight booking

Updated in February 2022: Vietnam government approved the plan to grant visa and welcome international tourists to Vietnam from March 15, 2022.
