The Visa Waiver Program allows some countries’ citizens to enter Vietnam with tourist or business purpose without obtaining a visa. Nationals of certain countries may visit Vietnam without visa for a period of time, hereunder is the list of countries and regions that have Visa Waiver arrangements with Vietnam.

Explanation about Vietnam Free visa program:

  • British National Overseas (BNO) passport holders are not eligible for the 15-day free visa exemption. Hence, it is required to apply for a visa to visit Vietnam.
  • Foreign passports are exempted from visa requirements to Phu Quoc island for no longer than 30 days. If they transit through other domestic airports in Vietnam before arriving Phu Quoc, they are required to apply visa.
  • APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) holders with valid passports are exempted from Vietnam visa requirements for stay of no longer than 90 days.
  • Citizens of Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei and Myanmar can enter and exit Vietnam multiple times as they want with a free Visa for a specific of time. These countries can enter Vietnam for a specific of times with tourist purpose. For business purpose, they should apply a visa.
  • Citizens of South Korea, Japan, Russia, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Spain, Belarus and France want to enter into Vietnam under unilateral visa exemption in the next time have to wait at least 30 days from the last day exit Vietnam.
