Which cities are visa extension can be submitted in?
Currently, three major cities in Vietnam can receive visa extension applications including: Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh. Foreign visitors in other cities can move to the above three cities to apply and extend their visa through visa agents. These agents will receive visa applications and apply for an extension with Vietnam Immigration Department.
What documents need to submit when applying for Vietnam visa extension?
To apply for a visa extension, you only need to submit the original passport to the visa agent. All other documents, visa agent will do for you. If you enter Vietnam with Evisa, you need to submit this Evisa to a travel agent. In case you enter with a separate visa at embassy / consulate, you also need to submit this visa. In case you use a visa exemption document for entry, you submit this visa exemption document along with your passport.
How long does it take to extend Vietnam visa?
Visa extension applications will be reviewed and approved after 5-7 working days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and Vietnamese holidays). After the passport is submitted to the Immigration Bureau, you cannot withdraw it for any reason, until the results are come. For urgent extension cases, you can receive your results within 2 working days.
