According to the announcement from the meeting this afternoon, the Vietnamese government decided to suspend all new visa issuance for all nationalities, effective from March 15, 2020.

The epidemic situation is spreading all over the world. In response to the rapid spread of the disease, the Vietnamese government has decided to tighten the entry policy into its country. Accordingly, all visa applications to Vietnam submitted after March 15 will be denied. This policy is effective from 15/3 and will be changed depending on the disease situation. For at least the next 1 month, all visa applications will not be approved. There is no way to apply for Vietnam visa after March 15, until further notice.

For cases of having visa already, if not on the list of prohibited entry, it is still possible to use a visa (if still valid) to enter Vietnam. Immigration procedures will be strictly controlled.

For cases without visa and want to enter to Vietnam, you can apply for an emergency visa and immediately enter Vietnam before March 15. Expedited visas can be approved within 4 business hours and can be applied here. If you apply for visa after this time, you must postpone your trip and wait until further notice.

The Vietnamese Government implements the above drastic measures to control diseases that are showing signs of rapid spread in Vietnam. Currently Vietnam has recorded 45 cases positive for Virus, 16 cases have been well treated. The activities of the local people is still normal, virus in Vietnam is still under control.
