Due to Virus corona situation, Vietnam Immigration has restricted to grant visa for Hong Kong passport holders from the end of January 2020. Accordingly, Hong Kong passport holders can only apply for Vietnam tourist visa on arrival in this period of time. The round-trip air ticket is required when submitting the visa application. However, from February 8^th , with the well-controlled virus situation in Vietnam, the Immigration Department has opened visa application with no restriction again for Hong Kong passport holders.

From 2020 February 8^th  , Hong Kong citizens can apply Vietnam visa as normal like before. Vietnam electronic visa is opened again for Hong Kong passport, and you can apply for an Evisa online as before. Visa on arrival also continue to be used. Hong Kong applicants can apply on the internet to get approval letter and use this letter to get visa at the airports in Vietnam. Businessmen who seeking for a working purpose visa can apply electronic business visa again. The procedures and documents are exactly as before, just fill out the visa application form online, upload passport and digital photo, after two working days, visa will be sent to email address.

It’s also required to have the air ticket booking which does not depart from any cities in China when applying Vietnam visa. Before boarding the airplane and when arriving Vietnam, it’s required to do a health check as well. Time for immigration check will be longer than the one before, for safety reasons.
