Some days ago, due to the virus corona situation, Vietnam government has announced to stop granting visa for Chinese citizens, included all Chinese mainland passport. How’s about Hong Kong and Macao passport? Can Hong Kong and Macao passport apply Vietnam visa in Corona Virus Outbreak period?

Hong Kong and Macao are also affected by Wuhan corona virus, however it’s not strongly affected like China, that is the reason why Hong Kong and Macao passport still can apply Vietnam visa.

However, the requirements for getting Vietnam visa in this time will be more difficult. Hong Kong and Macao passport holders meeting these below conditions will be considered to grant Vietnam visa:

1/ Must apply the approval letter through an authorized visa agent in Vietnam

2/ Must provided round-trip air ticket and passport copy.

3/ Must have a support person at the airport to do the visa procedure.

4/ Must have a good health condition and pass the medical check when entering Vietnam.

Please note:

• In this period of time, only visa on arrival is opened for Hong Kong and Macao passport holders. In order to get visa at the airport, you must apply and approval letter and book “on arrival support” before coming to Vietnam. • It’s more difficult to get visa for Hong Kong and Macao passports in corona virus period. After you submit all required documents, your visa application will be processed. It’s not guaranteed 100% your visa will be approved in this time. If your visa is rejected, the visa fee will be refunded.
• The processing time for visa application may take longer in this time, even you use the rush service.
