In order to get visa upon arrival at the Vietnamese airport, you need an approval letter. The question is, how soon can you apply it in advance?

The approval letter is applied online, and it takes 2 working days to process. From the time you apply it successfully, you will get the letter through email 2 working days later. Therefore, you should apply it at least 3 working days before you fly to Vietnam. However, for avoiding risky, you should apply it sooner. It is recommended to obtain this letter 1 month prior to your arrival.

In case you want to do it sooner, you can apply it up to 6 months prior to your arrival date, but don’t apply too soon.
