Many people doing the border crossing from China to Vietnam ask “whether I can apply and receive an E-visa to cross the border from China to Vietnam by bus?”

The answer is YES!

E-visa allows the visa holders to enter through airports, seaports and landports. However, you must enter through the border you choose when you apply e-visa. You cannot choose border A, then crossing through border B. So, make sure you choose the right entry ports.

There are many landports from China to Vietnam. You should choose the one which is suitable for your itinerary.

See full list of entry ports to enter Vietnam by E-visa here.

Another notice is you must be in the list of countries which are eligible for E-visa program. There are 80 countries and 2 territories can apply Vietnam E-visa now. See list of countries can apply Vietnam visa here.

This E-visa can be applied online. It takes 2 working days to get the result from the date you submit application form online. You need to provide passport photo (information page) and your digital photo to apply at the internet.

After applying online for E-visa successfully, you will receive the E-visa letter through email. Then you print it out. At the date you go to Vietnam, just show this E-visa and your passport at the border gate and get into Vietnam.

If you know the exact entry date, you choose it as your entry date. If not, just estimate the date. Because E-visa is 30 days entry type visa, so when your E-visa is approved, you can enter any day from the entry date to exit date.
